Mission statement: To Provide Exceptional Service and
commitment to our customer requirements so that our
Customers WANT to buy from us.
Separation Scientific was incorporated in 1987. In 1993 the
company moved to offices and warehousing facilities in
Honeydew.
During the intervening years everyone who was involved with
the company worked very hard towards the development and
growth of the business. The company distributed products
from leading multinationals such as Sorvall, Genelabs, NEN
and Pharmacia to various laboratories in South Africa. The
company initially employed 3 people and over the years, has
grown to a 70 strong workforce and is still growing!!
Separation Scientific now has 5 companies that form the
Sepsci Group, operating from the Honeydew Head office with
branch offices in Cape Town and Durban.
In 1995 an export drive was initiated with focus in
Zimbabwe, Botswana and Namibia. Further activities were
developed later and companies were established in Mozambique
and Mauritius. The Export Division manages the Southern
African Region outside of South Africa.
In 1998 the company established Sepsci Technical Services, a
company incorporated to accommodate the service requirements
of the equipment and systems sold by Separation Scientific
and to provide OEM service to other distributors within the
Southern African region. Sepsci Tech is a wholly owned
subsidiary of Separation Scientific
The engineers employed in Sepsci Tech have advanced
engineering qualifications and are certified by the
manufacturers on their products.
The Sepsci Tech activities include:

Routine Preventative Maintenance
scheduling and servicing

Emergency calls outs for down
instruments

Calibration and certification for
accredited laboratories

Installation and training for new
instruments
Through the years, SepSci has acquired
companies such as Life and Analytical Sciences (LAS),
formerly PerkinElmer and shares in companies operating in
the Laboratory Medicine, Biotechnology and Analytical
Laboratory markets. The activities in these companies have
enabled us to expand our service support base as well as
gain experience by working with the management of acquired
companies.
LAS major focus is on the analytical laboratory market and
has a substantial market share in its operational area
